Vacation Rentals Description
It is one mile from Pietrasanta , the cultural capital of Versilia and world center of art, the BnB Il Poggio Fiorito, offers its guests an elegant and comfortable villa and a splendid view of the Versilian coast. Set in an area of woods and olive groves and surrounded by a lively Mediterranean garden, it is a true oasis of peace. At the same time, it is perfectly placed for daily trips to many important sites in Tuscany of historic and artistic interest. Lucca and Pisa are only a twenty minutes drive away and Florence can be reached by car in less than an hour. The marble quarries of the Apuan Alps, made famous by Michelangelo, the medieval villages of the Lunigiana, the magnificent La Spezia Gulf, also known as the Gulf of the poets because Byron and Shelley lived there, and the Cinque Terre, can also be reached in less than an hour drive. In summer, some of these locations can be reached by boat.
The town of Pietrasanta is also known as "the small Athens" for the many international artists who live and work here in its marble workshops and foundries, assisted by very skilled local artisans. Moor, Fontana, Yasuda, Mitoraj, Botero and Folon, to name a few, have come here to produce their work, which also fills the squares and streets of this town, making it a true open air museum, continuously developing. Pietrasanta has excellent restaurants and nice boutiques. The many cafes on the magnificent Piazza del Duomo, the real jewel of the town, are very lively meeting points in the evening.
The sea towns of Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi, well-known for the soft, white sand and first class structures of their beaches, are 4Km away. They offer night clubs, restaurants and cafes. Viareggio, with its beautiful art-deco buildings, is about km 8 away.
The BnB has three double rooms available, each with its own bathroom. Two of the rooms face the Versilia coast, the third is turned towards the Apuan Alps. All have open beams ceilings and "cotto, flooring. A rich breakfast, prepared with fresh and organic products, is served in the garden under the gazebo, or inside in the dining area. Rooms are cleaned daily. They are provided with air conditioning and fans. Guests are warmly received and the owner is happy to provide suggestions and information. English, German, French and Spanish are spoken on the premise. Guests can relax on the veranda, in the garden or at the pool. Parking is available inside the property. A cable TV is at the disposal of the guests. Wireless internet connection can also be provided.
